Quickly we leave the fresh waters of the Amazon River and we penetrate into the Atlantic Ocean. Now we follow the coast north of the continent to Central America to Panama! It's a shame that we can't keep up with the beauty of this whole region, because we do not have windows to the outside.
Fortunately several TV monitors, available for all sides of the vessel, give us a vision of everything that happens around us. One of these monitors also features a satellite image of where we are and everything around us, including people living in the margins, boats, airplanes and even submarines when they are closer to the surface.
In the United States CIA is also in the following by way of satellite. They spotted us at the port of Val-de-Dogs in Belém do Pará, because we were visible there at the meeting point, where we boarded with the ambassador and staff on board for this mission. - Sir! (Everardo informs). I activated the automatic safety system, controlled by the supercomputer of the vessel. If something goes wrong it will shut down the propulsion just before a potential explosion happens!
- All right, ladies and gentlemen! Fasten your seat belts! (commander declares). Let's do something we've never done before in the open sea. It may be that the boat go shake too! Ambassador and I quickly lay in our beds and we tied them, thanks to seatbelts available there for occasions like this. Sabino and Everardo use seat belts available in their swivel chairs, which are securely fastened to the floor of the vessel. In the cockpit the avatars trigger a device that fix your legs and trunk to the chairs where they are sitting. We are all ready, when the female voice of artificial intelligence begins the countdown:
- Operation of two rockets back in: 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... Ignition!
The rockets are fired back and I hear a loud explosion from burning solid fuel on the back of the boat. My body is forced back due to such large thrust propulsion system generates. Gradually that initial feeling of being thrown in the opposite direction to the movement decreases. I'm slowly getting back to having control over my dead body and I'm lying in bed. I feel like we're flying! I realize that the chatter over and we continue soaring ever higher.
This is making me nervous! After all, I'm on a boat! And not in a plane! As time goes by and that difficult moment continues for an eternity! Suddenly, the system speakers, I hear a cry of joy from the maintenance room. It Everardo, vibrating with the results achieved by our air-sea test.
- Yes! It worked! We're flying! (Everardo screaming, ecstatic with the success that moment).
But soon we started losing altitude and within seconds we return to the sea surface! The impact soft landing remember well done from an airplane. Now we glide at high speed by the sea. I look down and I see the picture very quickly passing by the hall monitor nearby.
I thought something had gone wrong! I thought we'd hit something or who could make us a wave overturning, as with racing boats! But we're slowly losing speed. The images on the monitor are passing ever more slowly and I feel that perhaps we can survive the danger I was sure it would kill us at that time. The female voice of supercomputer vessel communicates the end of the test:
- End of the rocket propulsion test! The vessel reached in less than ten seconds, altitude seventy yards! We managed to reach a speed of five hundred kilometers per hour in thirty seconds. I thought the biggest thrills happen inside North Korean territory... but it looks like it will last for our whole trip! (the ambassador says, excited with so much adrenaline in your blood).
Ambassador and I started to release our seatbelts and we sat back in our beds, on the bottom bunk. As space is limited we were leaning out of bed, so that our heads will not hit the top of the bunk beds.
